A Huge Twist : Viewers vote on Team A on ‘WIN’

‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’, YG Entertainment’s real survival program on cable channel Mnet designed to determine the formation of a new boy group, unveiled the result of the viewers’ votes for the first battle aired on Sept 27.

On Sept 30, YG announced through the official homepage of ‘WIN’ on Daum portal site that the winner is Team A. 51.37% of the viewers voted for Team A while 48.63% for Team B, which concluded as an almost neck-and-neck competition. It is a surprise to many as Team B won the votes of the judges on the show. The viewers saw the battle differently.

YG explained, “The analysis of the viewers by Nielson Korea showed that the majority of the viewers were made up of women in their 20’s, followed by men in their 20’s and then women in their 40’s. This shows that Team A benefited from having 2 members who are already well known to the public—Kang Seung Yoon and Lee Seung Hoon.”

WIN is YG’s ambitious project to form the first boy group in 7 years since BIGBANG. The winning team of the 10-week program will make a debut on the group name WINNER.

Team A (Song Min Ho, Kim Jin Woo, Lee Seung Hoon, Nam Tae Hyun, Kang Seung Yoon), with an average age of 20 and Team B (B.I., Kim Jin Hwan, Bobby, Song Yoon Hyung, Koo Jun Hoe, Kim Dong Hyuk) with that of 17, will be put into fierce battles to make a debut as WINNER.

Episode 6, aired on Sept 27, ignited the competition as viewers also joined in to vote for one of the two teams.

  1. I didn’t vote bcs. of KSY and LSH only. I want to support them all. don’t understand why YG commented like that. Team A deserved to get this win vote.
