Team A wins the first battle of ‘WIN’ – The ‘Kang Seung Yoon and Lee Seung Hoon Effect’

Team A beat Team B on ‘WIN’, a result determined by the voting of the viewers.

On Sept 30, YG Entertainment revealed the voting result of the viewers of its real survival program ‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’.

‘WIN’ is a survival program that divides YG’s 11 trainees into Teams A and B for a fierce battle. The two teams will be put in a competition 3 times in the 10-weeks of the program. The result depends fully on the viewers’ vote, which will be conducted on the Internet, mobile applications and live SMS. The successful team will make a debut as the first boy group in 8 years since BIGBANG, under the group name WINNER.

In the episode aired on Sept 27, judges voted for Team B (B.I., Kim Jin Hwan, Bobby, Song Yoon Hyung, Koo Jun Hoe, Kim Dong Hyuk) instead of Team A (Song Min Ho, Kim Jin Woo, Lee Seung Hoon, Nam Tae Hyun, Kang Seung Yoon).

BIGBANG’s T.O.P., DAESUNG, SEUNGRI and all members of 2NE1 chose Team B. But the audience saw it differently. 51.37% of the viewers voted for Team A while 48.63% for Team B, which concluded as an almost neck-and-neck competition with just 2.74% difference.

YG explained, “The analysis of the viewers by Nielson Korea showed that the majority of the viewers were made up of women in their 20’s, followed by men in their 20’s and women in their 40’s. This shows that Team A benefited from having 2 members who are already well known to the public—Kang Seung Yoon and Lee Seung Hoon.”

The agency added, “More and more teenagers are utilizing replay services and also starting to participate in the voting, which indicates that many more will be paying a close attention to the second battle.”

The best 1 minute, which is a 1-minute span out of the entire show with the highest viewing rate, was Team B’s performance of G-DRAGON’s ‘One of a Kind’. Viewers can vote using Daum portal site, Kakao Talk and Kakao Talk’s Fantasy Runner game.
